ABOUT

I am a 3 x World Jiu Jitsu Champion (gi and no gi)  2 x Asian Champion, 11 x Pan Pacific Champion, Abu Dhabi Pro Bronze medallist (brown/black), Copa Podio Vikings vs Kangaroos winner, first Australian female to be invited to EBI (EBI12) and 5 x Australian Champion.

Here is my story.

I have been an athlete pretty much all of my life. I started rhythmic gymnastics as a 7 year old girl in Poland and successfully represented firstly Poland, then Australia for over 12 years.

Following my ‘retirement’ at the age 18, I took up track sprint cycling at the recommendation of my physiotherapist. Within a year, I was crowned the 2003/04 track series Australian Champion and throughout my career, represented Australia at the Oceania Championships and won numerous State and National races, including the prestigious “Austral Wheelrace”.

However, my cycling career got interrupted by my ambition to become a physiotherapist and obtaining a university degree. Since I am known for my obsessive training and attention to detail, I made a promise to myself to never again compete at a high level in sport and concentrate on other areas of my life. Well, the promise didn’t get me very far, 3 months later I fought at my first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition – the 2010 Victorian Championships. I won a silver medal and have gone from strength to strength since then.

I am now a physiotherapist and a clinical pilates instructor at Melbourne Physiotherapy, Fitness and Pilates Group.

I am a BJJ black belt, training at Absolute MMA St Kilda in Melbourne, under the amazing coach Lachlan Giles, whom I am lucky enough to also share my life with.
